"Sunken Treasure"

(c) 2021

11x14” Gouache on Cradled Panel, Unframed (Original Sold)

Upon relocating from the Pacific to the Atlantic coast, I returned to the state I grew up in and was flooded with reminders of my darker experiences and unfinished journey. Also enduring the weight of the pandemic, isolation through my first cold winter in a decade, and uncertainty in housing, I found a friend in the nearby seascapes. This piece is an homage to the way that life can weather us down and make us feel sunken and forgotten. But that even this difficult scene in itself is beautiful.
