18x20” Gouche on Paper, Unframed (Original Available)

A pressing image that came to me before the pandemic, with the need to find comfort in myself wherever I am. Regardless of where I am living or the physical and mental states I am in, this self portrait is meant to convey that I am at home in my body, on this planet, and in this universe - separately and as a meta experience. I created the piece during the beginning of Covid19 through the uncertainty of my mother’s health without the ability to visit her 3000 miles away. The skull represents mortality, lest we ever forget its presence.
